United Methodist Men (UMM)
The mission of the United Methodist Men is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage faith formation in others.
Our goal is to empower the ministry of Jesus Christ through men in the United Methodist Church.
Our pathway is a lifelong commitment to spiritual growth to maturity as Christ followers. Our spiritual formation is marked by spiritual reproduction, as our faith passes on in others.
All Long Memorial men are automatically members of United Methodist Men and visitors are welcome. We do not currently have regular meetings, but we get together as needed for special service to the church. You are welcome to join us in fellowship and in serving our church and our neighbors.

United Women in Faith (UWF)
UWF Purpose: “The organized unit of United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”
The United Women in Faith (UWF) of Long Memorial meet monthly for Christian fellowship, a short program, prayer and mission work. Currently we have four different groups or “Circles” to provide a choice of meeting time and day and a variety of mission opportunities. Once a year we have a joint meeting with a picnic or covered dish dinner.
“Many hands make light work” and our work together provides a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and deep joy. Circles rotate turns providing bereavement luncheons for the families of Long Memorial members whenever deaths occur in our congregation. Once a year each Circle also takes a turn preparing the meal for an ecumenical Lenten Luncheon hosted by Long Memorial. All our Circles work together to provide a Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser in the fall and a Palm Sunday Luncheon in the spring. We also wrap candles for the Love Feast at Christmas, provide lunches for the Soup Kitchen at the Christian Help Center, and visit the sick and shut-in members of our church. We make donations to local ecumenical ministries such as Safe Haven, give money to help the needy of Person County in response to special requests from the Department of Social Services, and give $1,200 annually to the national and global missions of the United Methodist Church.
Membership in the UWF is voluntary and open to all women who feel a commitment to belong and participate in the local and global mission of the church. If you are not yet involved with UWF, please join us! If you are not able to attend monthly meetings, you can still be associated with a Circle as a helper. You may contact Long Memorial UWF President, Karen Kerrick at kkerrick@gmail.com or 303-435-7724 or any Circle member for more information.
Our 2026-2027 Long Memorial UWF Officers are: Karen Kerrick, President; Lori Burnette, Vice President; Nancy Newell, Secretary/Historian; Patti Morgan, Treasurer.
Circles
The Mary Hambrick United Women in Faith, named in loving memory of an early member of Long Memorial, are divided into the following Circles:
Circle #1 – made up of young women (20s – 40s) meets at 5:00 p.m., in the Church Library on the first or second Sunday of each month, depending on the Youth schedule, and taking the summer months off. Their meetings include fellowship, dessert, and a program relevant to young women. Many of the Circle’s mission projects are aimed at helping young women. For more information, please contact Ashley Bailey at baileyfivegopack@gmail.com or 336-504-4997.
Circle #2 – meets at 4:00 p.m. on the Monday following the 4th Sunday of each month except May, June, July, and December to discuss contemporary mission topics. This circle meets in the Church Library or in members’ homes. The membership includes women who may still be in the work world as well as those who are retired. For more information, please contact Jill Strickland at jillostrickland@gmail.com or 336-504-4081.
Circle #3 – is an energetic group of women who are retired from varied professions. They meet at 10:00 a.m. on the Monday following the 4th Sunday of each month, sometimes in the Church Library, sometimes in members’ homes, and once a year in a restaurant for lunch. They do not meet in June, July, and December. They are an active Circle, who enjoy fun and fellowship with each other. For more information, please contact Carol Tucker at carolt113@myyahoo.com or 336-504-5293.
