Long Memorial Preschool is a weekday ministry of Long Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 226 North Main Street, Roxboro, North Carolina. Enrollment is open to the community.
Our goal is to expose each child to a wide variety of experiences which incorporate the four major developmental areas – social, emotional, physical and cognitive – in a loving, Christ-centered environment.
The preschool day has periods of elective individual activity, teacher-directed group activity, group instruction and independent play. We have a fenced in playground for fine days, as well as a large indoor playroom for inclement days. Activities include songs, crafts, games, stories, field trips and special events. Once a week the three and four-year-old classes have an assembly in the Chapel with the pastor. Once a year every child has a special day – perhaps his or her birthday – when he or she is the center of attention.

Three-Year-Old Classes: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. MWF or MTT

Four-Year-Old Classes: 9:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. MWF or M-F
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – or – Monday through Friday
Inclement Weather Policy
The Long Memorial Preschool will take into consideration the radio announcements of the Person County Public School system with regard to the closing of school due to snow or other inclement weather causing hazardous road conditions. The final decision to close or open is at the discretion of the Director whose decision will be based on actual weather conditions in the Person County area.
